According to the official website, The Diplomacy Lab, launched by Secretary of State John Kerry in 2013, "enables the State Department to 'course-source' research and innovation related to foreign policy by harnessing the efforts of students and faculty at universities across the country.”
Millicent’s work focused on gender-based violence in India, because she is very passionate about the rights of women and girls. She proposed using social media and other creative platforms to encourage community engagement. Her policy proposal was titled, He, for She, for Delhi.
Millicent is hoping to use this win as a platform for future work opportunities beyond her time spent in Washington, D.C. this summer. She is very thankful for Dr. Luther’s instrumental work of bringing the Diplomacy Lab to UT.
