The student-run news website Tennessee Journalist (TNJN.com) and the Knoxville News Sentinel have teamed up to publish a book on Butch Jones' first year as head football coach at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
The book, Butch: The First Year of the Butch Jones Era at the University of Tennessee, compiles articles and photos published by the two media outlets as Jones recruited and trained the 2013 Volunteer football team.
"We are very pleased with our collaboration with the Knoxville News Sentinel on the thirteenth iBook in our Tennessee Journalism Series," said Dr. Peter Gross, director of the School of Journalism and Electronic Media.
Jennifer Brake, a JEM junior and editor-in-chief of TNJN.com, designed and produced the multimedia edition. Chris Wohlwend, JEM lecturer, also contributed his copyediting skills to the project, and Jennifer Dedman of the News Sentinel designed the print edition.
The book is available in three forms: a multimedia version for the iPad available at the iBookstore ($7.99); a print version available at the CreateSpace and Amazon bookstores ($19.99); and a Kindle version available at the Kindle bookstore ($4.99).
Proceeds from the sale of the book will be split between the School of Journalism and Electronic Media and the News Sentinel, which will use its proceeds to fund an internship for a journalism student.
