The Diplomacy Lab helps the State Department broaden its research base and more effectively respond to a variety of global challenges.Dr. Luther and an ethnically diverse group of graduate students examined how law enforcement representatives in selected democracies engage with their communities and suggested how improvements might be made via new media.
“Excellent” and “I’m blown away” were among the words uttered by the State Department officials.
Their written reports will be passed on to policy makers within State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs. A few of the students might also have the opportunity to visit the State Department next semester to present their work.
