Students to produce documentary for East Tenn. PBS

UT student filmmakers have been selected to create eight-minute documentaries relating to the Vietnam War through Landgrant Films.

The three short documentaries will come together in a half-hour program that will premiere in coordination with the release of Ken Burns’ new documentary, The Vietnam War, on East Tennessee PBS this September.

Isaac Ward, Jesse Tipton and Issac Fowler & Tim Morris will begin to create their submitted proposals over the summer. Their stories could range from historic looks at Knoxville during the war, profiles of veterans from the war, stories of organizations working with Vietnam veterans or anything they can think up.

Landgrant is able to support students in this project through donations from VOLstarter, Raymond James, a grant from the Experienced Learning Program at UTK, East Tennessee PBS and other amazing donors. Landgrant Films has produced award-winning student documentaries: Teach a Man to Fish and Reaching Recovery.
